A new reboot of an iconic show is on its way. Images from HBO Max’s new reboot of Gossip Girl were released earlier this week.
The new images picture the new and fresh faced cast outside one of the most iconic Gossip Girl sets, the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps, where the original cast would sit and gossip together. The new reboot will have all the same characters as the original show. The new cast includes Whitney Peak, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Jordan Alexander, Savannah Lee Smith, Evan Mock, and Zion Moreno.
The reboot will take a look inside the lives of the privileged teens of the Upper East Side in New York City, just as the original Gossip Girl did. It will show what role social media plays in their lives and how it affects each of them. Fans will be pleased to hear that the voice of the Gossip Girl, voiced by Kristen Bell in the original show, will be the same. It wouldn’t be iconic if Kristen Bell didn’t play the voice of Gossip Girl.
The original series of Gossip Girl ran from 2007 to 2012 and aired for six seasons on The CW. The original cast consisted of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgely, Chase Crawford, and Ed Westwick, and now their iconic characters will be played by these young, new teens in the new reboot. Everyone is excited for the new series, to see what spin they will take, and how the iconic characters will be portrayed by the new, young actors. The new, upcoming spin-off won’t be released until the middle of next year on HBO Max, but in the meantime the original series is available on Netflix.
