The new Miss America is Camille Schrier, Miss Virginia.

The new Miss America was announced Thursday night, and while all competitors wanted the crown and the title, only one would win. Schrier took home the crown in Thursday’s pageant, beating out 51 other competitors, each from the United States also including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.

2019’s Miss America, Nia Franklin passed down her title as she crowned Schrier at the end of the competition. Coming in as the first runner up was Miss Georgia, Victoria Hill, while Miss Missouri, Simone Esters came in as second runner up, all of which were excited to represent their state at the most well- known competition.

Schrier now has the honor of wearing the iconic crown and sash. She could barely hold back tears when her name was announced to the world. As her name was announced, the crowd went wild.

Schrier is currently still in school working on getting her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. She already has a degree in Biochemistry and Systems Biology from Virginia Tech.

Now, Schrier will spend the next year as the face of Miss America. Her title comes along with great responsibilities, as she will pitch impact initiatives throughout the country and bringing the values of the organization to the public. Miss America is a once in a lifetime experience, and the country could not be happier for her.
