Recalled: Fallout 76 Helmet Holds a Dangerous Mold

Fallout 76, an already poorly reviewed and highly criticized game, has now fallen under more controversy.

If you’re unaware of the game’s history, Fallout 76 is the most recent title in the Fallout series, which depicts life after a world-wide nuclear war. The series as a whole has been highly praised, and it has landed on many “must play” lists. However, F76 has found itself in a stew of criticism. The main disapproval stems from the “online only” play option and several performance issues.

However, even though the overall reviews of the game are poor, some people still enjoyed the game, and if there is profit to be found, a company will most likely follow it. This resulted in endless amounts of merchandise including the Nuka Cola collectors helmet which retailed at a price of $150.

Everything seemed fine, until multiple unboxing videos revealed that not only is it an exact replica of a prior helmet and just recolored, but it also has been recalled due to a dangerous mold residing inside the inner lining of the helmet. The recall note supports this by stating that there is “..a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with compromised immune systems, damaged lungs or an allergy to mold..”. However, this recall was not so monumental since only 32 out of 20,000 units were sold.
