College football is finally here! Week one for the Jackets started off with the Clemson Tigers from South Carolina. The stats showed that 99 percent of people believed that Clemson would be victorious over the Jackets and they couldn’t have been more right.

The game started off with the team captains from both teams shaking hands and flipping a coin to see who’d get possession of the ball first. Clemson got the ball first. They had to punt it off to the Jackets, who fumbled by dropping the fair catch. Clemson recovered the ball. Clemson scored twice in the first quarter and twice again in the second quarter. The score was 28-0 by half time. The Jackets didn’t score at all in the first half. They did have opportunities, but fumbled and threw interceptions any chance they got in the red zone.

In the third quarter, the Jackets scored a touchdown. Clemson scored two more. In the fourth quarter, the Jackets scored another touchdown, and Clemson scored another ten points. The game ended with a score of 52-14. To be honest, I didn’t think that the Jackets would’ve scored the points they did. Week one is in the books. Thirteen more to go!
