Rapper Tay-K was sentenced to 55 years in prison for a robbery that occurred in 2016, leaving one man dead. Taymor McIntryre, professionally known as Tay-K, was sentenced along with six other men who was involved in the death of Ethan Walker. In 2017, the 19-year-old rapper released a hit song named “The Race” while he was running from authorities. The viral song was used against him as evidence in court. In the music video, Tay-K was seen waving a gun in front of a real-life wanted poster of himself. He was captured in New Jersey after being on the run for 3 months.

On July 19, 2019, Tay-K was found guilty of murder and could receive a 40 year sentence for capital murder. However, later on that week, the jury decided to sentence him to 55 years for murder. He also got an additional sentence of 30 years. Since the rapper was a minor when these offenses were committed, he is allowed to serve the years simultaneously instead of separately.

The families of the victims are now working on filing lawsuits against the rapper. However, his representatives argue that his crimes should not become a profit for the families.
