On Sunday February 04, 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in the the fifty second annual Super Bowl. The game took place in U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Walking into that game, the Eagles were automatically considered an underdog against Bill Belichick and the Patriots. Belichick has five Super Bowl rings with the Patriots, leading all other coaches in most Super Bowl wins. The Eagles took home their first ever Lombardi trophy. After three attempts in the Super Bowl, Phillie was finally successful in their third attempt last Sunday evening. The Eagles starting quarterback, Carson Wentz suffered a season ending ACL injury back in week 14 in a 43-35 victory against the Rams. This resulted in Nick Foles’ ¨time to shine¨ as he stepped up into the starting quarterback position. Foles is the first backup quarterback to win a Super Bowl since the man himself, Tom Brady.
